KABINETT - Graduation Exhibition 2010
The exhibition Kabinett is the second part of the graduation show made by the students at Ölands Konstskola. The first part was shown at Designarkivet 4.4-19.4.
Kabinett is the name of part two of the graduations show. In this exhibition the students are making one work each especially for the exhibition space on the top floor of the art museum. The name Kabinett is referring to the closed character of the room and not least forming associations with to times gone by and their curio cabinets. Where a multitude of objects with different character were gathered on the basis of their curiosity.
“A curio cabinet is a collection of rare and unusual objects, natural-history specimens, abnormalities, expensive things and archaeological finds. Several princely curio cabinets from the 17th and 18th centuries were later turned into museums”.
