Flash of the New Flesh

Tomasz Kozak’s Flash of the New Flesh is a video essay rewriting David Cronenberg’s movies. The project is focused on the postulates formulated by Seth Brundle, the main protagonist of The Fly (1986): ”Look beyond the veil of the flesh! Dive in the plasma pool!”.

What’s lurking beyond the corporal curtain? Eternal Worm? What is the substance of a plasma? Malicious Molecules?... Tomasz Kozak answers these questions with the help of the key philosophers of early modernity: D.A.F de Sade, F. W. J. Schelling and Friedrich Schiller.
