With a strong international profile Kalmar konstmuseum is considered an important art institution in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The museum aims to be a place for reflection, discussion and new impressions, to function as a voice in public debate and to be a cultural engine in the region. By inviting national and international artists to reflect on contemporary issues we open up for conversations and new perspectives.<\/p>\n<p>Kalmar konstmuseum offers a calendar of events including artist talks, lectures and seminaries connected to the exhibitions and on going projects. The work with children and young people is a core part of our offering and central to our program of spreading awareness and access to art and design.<\/p>\n<p>The building housing Kalmar konstmuseum is by the architects <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thamvidegard.se\/\">THAM &amp; VIDEG\u00c5RD<\/a> and was opened in 2008.
