Where Is My Mind?

Liv Strömquist

23/05 - 20/09 2026

Human ways of thinking are undergoing a fundamental transformation. In Where Is My Mind?, Liv Strömquist examines the the accelerated information flows of contemporary society – and what is really going on inside our heads.

Every minute, 500 hours of new content are uploaded to YouTube. In the same span of time, 100,000 new images are published on Instagram. We process enormous amounts of information while simultaneously feeling disconnected and passive. In the exhibition Where Is My Mind?, Liv Strömquist opens a door straight into the mind of late modern humanity, exploring how digital image worlds and an ever-increasing pace shape the way we perceive and make sense of existence.

Liv Strömquist is one of Sweden’s most prominent and multifaceted cultural figures. She is the creator behind award-winning graphic novels, acclaimed productions at Dramaten, and some of Sweden’s most popular podcasts. Her sharp humour and incisive analyses of contemporary society have shaped an entire generation’s understanding of love, identity, and feminism. At Kalmar konstmuseum, she now presents her first exhibition in the role of visual artist.

For Where Is My Mind?, she has created entirely new works across a range of media – drawing, animation, sculpture, film, and textile. Using antique amphorae, oversized keys, and thinking furniture, Liv Strömquist explores our perception of time and our capacity for concentration. What is it like to live in a world that is constantly losing its train of thought?
